Pakiri Paella (Auckland) Traditional Cache

Take a trip out to one of the last remaining undeveloped East Coast beaches in the Auckland Region. A 60 min return stroll along this stunning beach and around the rock platform will lead you to this cache.
Pakiri Beach is located approximately 20mins drive north of Leigh over the Pakiri Hill. Most of the road from the top of the hill is gravel. Due to the gravel road Pakiri Beach is one of the least touristy beaches in the area however it still attracts the hoardes in summer.
A beautiful white sand beach, popular with surfers, swimmers and the home of one of Auckland's newest Regional Parks.
Best accessed at low tide especially in an easterly when the cache may not be accessible at high tide. We have included a "cherry on the top" inside the cache - coordinates to a nearby mussel bed which can only be accessed an hour either side of dead low tide. Please check the latest catch limits if you intend to take advantage of this and take only what you need! We have assumed that geocachers are environmentally responsible people :-)

You are looking for a 1 litre Sistema container painted cammo brown. The cache is easliy accessed from the base of the cliff - CLIMBING THE CLIFF IS NOT REQUIRED.
