Update, 3/24/22: Well the trees are now go due to a logging operation but the giant of a stump is still there. There are piles of brush that we assume will be burnt in the future and planted with tiny trees to start the process all over again. The Private Property sign at the gate pertains to the unauthorized travel by motorized vehicle and Green Crow actually encourages the use of their lands for recreation by foot traffic.
We were in this area looking for a unique place to hide a very unusual cache container. We didn't find the right spot for that particular one, but when we saw a certain stump in these woods, we knew we just HAD to bring our fellow cachers in for a look. We don't know how many years this giant stood it's ground, but it had to be awhile. Hence the name.
