Geocache Description:

Yes, but which summit??? (Cache is not at listed coordinates). To get started, you need to work out the following names of suburbs or localities in the Hobart area.

1. This area was named Beltana from 1892, until its name change in 1903. 2. This locality originally had many German and Danish settlers, and was named Bismarck in 1881, until the change to its current name during WW1. 3. Originally called Clarence Plains. 4. Carbide works were established here in 1917. 5. This locality secured Tasmania’s first full-time Australian Lifeguard Service (during January). 6. Kingborough’s most populous suburb. 7. Joseph Moir built the prominent structure in this locality in 1870. 8. This locality was named after the man who was Bishop of Tasmania between 1883 and 1888. 9. The original land grant holder in this area was W A Bethune. It was named after the place in France where his ancestor, the Duc de Maximilien de Bethune Sully, lived. 10. This locality has Australia’s oldest continuously licensed hotel. From 1, 2 and 3, use the third letter only. From 4, use the fourth letter only. From 5 to 10, use the fifth letter only. Now unscramble and rearrange the letters to form the name of the summit that you will need to walk up! This cache originally had a WP1 near the gate that provided coordinates but its disappeared, so just walk to the summit! There are several tracks and fire trails which will lead to the top and I would advise using these. If you think you must have missed them be patient, there are quite a few. Enjoy the views on the way up, because they are a bit restricted from the top. But I think it is an achievement to reach the summit, and if you have a dog, it’ll love you for the walk! Allow about an hour or a bit more, and it’s nice to take a different route for the walk back. Hope you enjoy it. Cache is a cammoed 2 litre sistema, and is as close to summit as you'd probably get.
