Geocache Description:

MARY S. YOUNG STATE RECREATION AREA

Mary S. Young State Park is owned by Oregon State Parks, but operated through a cooperative agreement with the City of West Linn. Located between Highway 43 and the Willamette River, Mary S. Young is a fantastic park with ~8 miles of hiking and biking trails, a large open leash-free dog area, soccer fields, and several nice beaches along the river.

The trails are fairly simple, but if you're interested, the City of West Linn provides several options for trail maps. If you stick with the main loop and visit all of my caches in the park, you should enjoy a nice ~3 mile hike.

The cache location is not under the boardwalk. That location is too close to the middle waypoint for my MSY - A View to the Other Side cache. So enjoy the view from this cache location and then enjoy the boardwalk on the way back by taking the Turkey Creek Trail on your return.

This cache was part of the 2008 MT HOOD TERRITORY GEOCACHING CONTEST during the summer of 2008.
