1st of 4 caches placed today. This cache is just lame...nothing more...probably less. It's just a camoed film container hanging out in the open in a tree. It wasn't even my container. I found this one on the ground somewhere some time ago after an event so I CITOed (picked it up and put it into my pocket) it. It was already camoed and had a hook, perfect for hanging in a lame spot. All I had to do was add a log sheet.
This is just a lame (and a bit tedious, which is probably what makes it even lamer) multi. The posted coords is the first stage of the multi. The posted coords will take you to a trail head of a newly constructed trail by the parking lot at the east end of Bluffer's Park. Actually, the trail doesn't really go anywhere. We were surprised that they added a brand new trail here, with brand new posts lining the trail on both sides, with each post being only a few meters apart. What you need to do is from the posted coords, count the amount of fence posts on your left hand side that you pass as you walk down the trail (do not count the posts on your right hand side). Keep walking until you reach the last post. Did you count correctly?
Once you have counted the posts on your left, you will need to do some simple math. Now don't be lame and don't use a calculator. Do it the old fashioned way like you learned in school.
For the north coords, multiply the number of posts that you counted by 49352.09 and round up to the nearest whole #. Add the appropriate notation to bring it into a format that looks like a set of north coords.
For the west coords, multiply the number of posts that you counted by 89926.85 and round up to the nearest whole #. Add the appropriate notation to bring it into a format that looks like a set of west coords.
Once you do the above calculations, you will realize that you are very close to the cache (like under 100m). If you are not, then you probably miscounted, so just add or substract one or two from what you counted.
