Geocache Description:

Jõulumäe Recreation Center was started to build in 1976, when the first trees were hewed. These long and slim pines had crown and their treetops tousled by sea breeze on this sandy soil for a long time. But trees grow too densely and people didn’t have enough room for moving with two wooden boards between them. Thereof the greatest minds decided to create a center, which could offer joy for people and improve people health. Sandy shore-walls offers good possibility to create jovial skiing- and running tracks. Ever since local people have often found them on these tracks having fun or making serious sport. On these tracks have grown several champions and local heroes.

Not very far from the first hewed trees sit young boy with shiny eyes. His name was Andrus Veerpalu. He looked at two strange wooden boards what were laying in front of his feet. These objects seemed to hinter moving instead of improving it. But he had a dream and vision. Nobody wasn’t able to stop him – not even the skis. He started training and trained a lot. He improved and grew a little by little every day. Shortly he grew too big at cross-country skiing for other competitors. Nobody couldn't defeat him – not even on Olympic tracks. He won two Olympic gold medals and become almost as an epic hero in Estonia. He joined the nation and brought happiness for them – at least through the television.

Today we see there training future Olympic winners. We see their first steps up on the stairway to heaven. If you will find the way in one beautiful day to Jõulumäe, You should observe those young children. They are our future and pride. Try not to disturb them and take a piece of chocolate or banana with you in case of they get hungry or they just need energy. Athlete is like a fragile flower whose Olympic hope can be ruined by strong wind. Take care of those flowers and we will find the warmth in our soul and hearth even in gold winter day.

then follow it and You are almost there. Park your car and take a very short walk. The cache can easily be found and you can see it even from far away. Please don’t take any kind of risk – you don’t need it. Also beware of mugglers. Just relax and breathe fresh air.
