[ENG] In 1880 Major General Jaan Toots was born in Küti farm, Helme. He was the Field Marshal in the Freedom War. A minister of war and Tallinn's Mayor. Died 6.02.1942 in UssoLag in Russia.

Today there is only a great abandoned house, ruins of neighboring buildings and thriving bushes. Only the memorial stone of the farm indicates that this place used
to be populated years ago.

[EST] 1880 sündis Viljandimaal Helme vallas Küti talus Vabadusristi kavaler kindralmajor Jaan Soots. Vabadussõjas Sõjavägede Ülemjuhataja staabiülem. Kõigi Riigikogu koosseisude liige, sõjaminister, Tallinna linnapea ja ülemlinnapea. Mulkide Seltsi esimees Tallinnas. Helme valla aukodanik. Hukkus 6.02.1942 UssolLagis Venemaal.

Tänapäeval on seal ainult laokile jäänud ruumikas elumaja, kõrvalhoonete varemed ning igast küljest vohama löönud võsa. Üksnes mälestuskivi kunagise talu rehielamu asemel viitab, et selles paigas on aastaid tagasi elu olnud.
