Das Geologische Profil "Im Löwental"

Das Geologische Profil "Im Löwental" erschließt etwa 300m der kohleführenden Schichten aus dem erdzeitlichen Abschnitt Oberkarbon (320 - 296 Mio). Zu sehen sind abwechselnd Sandsteine, Ton- und Schluffsteine sowie Steinkohleflöze. Die hier vorhandene Schichtfolge bildete sich in einem Zeitraum von etwa 1 Mio. Jahren. Vor allem die Sandsteine wurden hier in mehreren kleinen Steinbrüchen entlang der alten Straßentrasse als Baumaterial gewonnen!

 The Geolocial Profile "Im Löwental" exploited a coal-bearing layer (length about 300m) accrued from the carboniferous time (320 - 296 Mio). You see alternatly sandstone, clay stones and slit stones as soon as hard coal seam. The stone formation was formed roughly 1 million years ago. Sand stones were mined along the road in small stone pits years ago.
