Geocache Description:

A Flash Mob Event!
Join cachers around the world for your very own 15 minutes of fame!



DATE: Saturday, November 10, 2007
TIME: 11:00 am to 11:15 am (only 15 minutes!)
WHERE: Maxwell Park in Normal, IL

-What will happen when hundreds of geocachers around the world meet at the same time?

-Will satellites collide?

-A Flash Mob Event is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, do something unusual for a brief period of time, and then quickly disperse. You can handle that can‘t you?

-This flash mob event is part of a much larger effort by geocachers around the world. At the same time, over 80 World Wide Flash Mob (WWFM) events will occur.

-Come and be a FLASHER!

During the “Not Your Normal WWFM Event” Be Prepared To: …



-Sign the log sheet.
-Put the sheet in the bucket for the Raffle.
-Participate in “Not Your Normal WWFM Activity“
-Take Group Photo



Here is the itinerary for Not Your Normal WWFM Event …



10:55
- Everybody wait patiently and/or stroll around the area. STAY AWAY from ground zero until the signal is given. As much as you can, act like a muggle, pretend not to know each other or give any indication that something is about to happen. You know, kind of like a “normal“ event!

11:00
-Hostesses will arrive at GZ and Signal the beginning of the Flash Event
-Everybody gather round Ground Zero.

11:00 – 11:08
-Sign the log sheet with your name
-Put the log sheet in the bucket for the raffle
-Begin “Not Your Normal WWFM Activity“

11:08 - 11:12
-The event “banquet” will be served!
-Make arrangements to meet elsewhere or get some numbers: go geocaching!
-Exchange swag, coins, TBs, tall tales, DNF stories, puzzle solutions.
-Raffle Drawing and Prizes for "Not Your Normal WWFM Activity" awarded

11:12
-Assemble for a group photo, and assemble FAST. Listen to the photographer for directions.
-Taking of the official photo of the Not Your Normal WWFM Event

11:14 -One minute WARNING!

11:15 EXACTLY
 -All participants must leave the area. EVERYBODY! It is very important that all leave the premises at exactly 11:15 at the signal.


If everything goes right we will have lots of people coming out of nowhere and gathering for 15 minutes, holding a geocaching event and then disappearing…This will be lots of fun and maybe even raise a few muggle eyebrows!

*Credit is given to other WWFM web pages for the content. In particular this event is coordinated and in conjunction with the San Diego WWFM hosted by iTrax and FoxTail

In addition to the raffle, we will be awarding prizes for the "WWFM activity" winner which will include, among other things, the solution to a new puzzle.
