Geocache Description:

This attractive spot is only 1/2 a mile from the High Green in the village of Cotherstone. From here follow the signs to the Friends Meeting House. Please note however that the cache is not hidden within the pond precincts so please do not disturb this sensitive conservation area.

The pond is best visited in the Spring when the daffodil bulbs planted by the school children of the village are in full bloom. It is attractive however at all tmes of the year with ducks nesting on the island at times.

The pond is dedicated to Kennedy Dinsmore who lived nearby.

To find the cache cross the bridge over the stream and ascend to the adjacent field.

Having found the cache the walk can be continued to Barnard Castle. From there there is an hourly bus service back to Cotherstone or alternatively an equally attractive walk back to the village can be followed on the opposite side of the River Tees.

Some people have had difficulty in finding the pond. If approaching from Cotherstone then it is just on the left before descending to the little footbridge over the stream.
