Geocache Description:

Start at the East Coast Trail at Pouch Cove.

The Loss of the Waterwitch. It was here on November 29,1875 that the schooner Waterwitch was lost with nine persons on board. Due to the heroism of Alfred Moores, who had himself lowered down the cliff, eleven of the ship's compliment were plucked to safety. For his courage, Moores was awarded a medal and diploma by the Royal Humane Society. He died here on April 15, 1905.
