Geocache Description:

This cache is the final cache in a series of caches that I have placed in a picturesque area of the Peak District on the outskirts of Sheffield. The caches follow a circular route of about 3 miles taking in Burbage Rocks, Carl Wark (aka the Devils Fort) and Higger Tor. There are 9 caches in the series but at least two other caches can be visited on the route i.e. Bountiful Burbage and Hole in One.

The posted coordinates for this cache are not the true cache location. They are for an open area of moorland – do not visit as the cache is not there. The true coordinates for this cache can be found in the back of the log book for Burbage Truffle 8 – Higger Tor. It’s a little bonus cache to keep you occupied on the way back to the car park.

It is recommended that the Burbage Truffle caches are visited in their numerical order culminating in number 9 the bonus cache.

Please note that the majority of the terrain is relatively flat along well defined paths but there are some steep and rocky sections involving walking over rough and rocky ground. It is advisable to wear good footwear and clothing appropriate to the weather conditions.

THIS IS A VERY POPULAR AREA WITH WALKERS, CYCLISTS, RUNNERS, CLIMBERS AND SCHOOL PARTIES. PLEASE RETRIEVE AND REHIDE THE CACHES WELL. PREVIOUS CACHES IN SOME OF THIS AREA HAVE BEEN MUGGLED – DON’T LET IT HAPPEN TO THIS SERIES.

There are several parking opportunities for you to use whilst visiting this series of caches (and other caches in the area). The main 2 parking area’s are around Burbage Bridge at 1. N53 20.576 W001 36.483 and 2. N53 20.593 W001 36.624

The cache is a small round container covered in cammo and it contains a log sheet and pencil - but it will hold the odd geocoin.
