This is a traditional cache at a beautiful spot on Seneca Lake. Part of an informal “Winery Series” that so far travels around Seneca Lake. PLEASE DO NOT GO FOR THIS CACHE AFTER DUSK.
Monty Stamp was a hardworking man with a heart of gold. He loved his family, nature and farming. In 1951 he took the family land and planted vineyards. This eventually grew into a winery by 1989. Monty was quick with a joke and loved to put a smile on your face.
During his lifetime Monty was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. He lived with this Disease for 20 years. It progressively got worse as with any disease, yet he still had a smile on his face and didn’t let it stop him from accomplishing anything. He has so much energy and enthusiasm for life and his family that I think he accomplished more in a day that I could in a week.
This cache is met to inspire. We placed this cache to show all what we can do even with obstacles in our way. The cache will take you to what Monty “built”/grew with his hands and left for all of us to enjoy.
Permission was given by the owners for this cache to be placed here. Please don’t go for it after dusk, or wander thru the vineyards without permission.

Creating and always updating an informal caching trail among the wineries and vineyards along Seneca Lake. Such a beautiful region, and I hope this makes you feel more a part of such a wonderful, integral part of the Finger Lakes.
