Geocache Description:

Cache hidden in the hills above Amanohashidate at 250 meters above the sea, close to one of Japan's «Three Great Views».

Known as «Bridge to Heaven», Amanohashidate's claim to fame is its long and beautiful sandspit. Very narrow and almost four kilometers long, it almost cuts off the inner part of the Miazu-wan bay. It is covered with pleasant pine forest, and lined with golden sand beach. This is considered one of Japan's «Three Great Views».
The cache is located in the hills above the north end of the sandspit, along the road between the Kasamatsu-Koen viewpoint and the Naria-ji temple. From the cache site, you will have a very nice view, but not of the sandspit.
A chairlift and a funicular railway run to the area. Waypoint 1 (listed below) is a good place to start; this is the beginning of the road to the temple, and also the end of a walkway up the hill.
The cache is a magnetic key holder, containing a logsheet and a pencil. The logsheet is wrapped in a protective ziplock bag.
Please reinstall the cache excactly as found.

Note on maintenance: The great Kyoto cacher masaaki helps out to maintain this cache.
