Geocache Description:

There hasn't been many caches in Cherry Creek, so we decided to create an easy multi-cache which will take you by a couple of the historic buildings in the area (there aren't many left).

Cherry Creek was originally part of a 320 acre farm owned by Edwin P. Harman. If you park at the above coordinates you will be in front of one of the original farm houses. The current owner tells us that the house was moved a few hundred feet to its current location when Harman subdivided the farm into a town called Harman's Subdivision in 1882. Note the house number of the farm house.

Now walk a couple of blocks to N39° 43.360 & W104° 57.060. These coordinates are for historic Harman Town Hall, which was recently renovated into a residence. Built in 1891, it served as the fire station, police station and administrative offices for the town until it was absorbed into the city of Denver 4 years later. Note the day of the month on the last line of the historic plaque.

Okay, the actual cache is at N39° 43.A01 & W104° 57.B01. The value for "A" is the last digit in the house number of the farm house. The value for "B" is the first digit in the day of the month noted on the Harman Hall historic plaque.

Although the cache itself is on private property (with permission of the owner), it is NOT necessary to go onto the property to retrieve the cache. It is also NOT necessary to disturb any landscaping in order to retrieve the cache. Please tread lightly and respect the area and we'll be able to keep this cache here for a long time.

The cache container is a 1 liter clear plastic jar, initially containing:

- log book
- one of our new SummitCacher carabiner flashlights
- Colorado Rockies radio
- magic towel
- compass keychain
- bike tire repair kit
- puzzle ball
- bottle opener keychain
- helicopter toy
- assorted pins & coins
