Geocache Description:

Welcome to “Harbour and Hills”

It is hard to believe that you have just left the suburban streets and have dipped into the lush green surroundings of the bush. Tranquillity descents, it is warmer here – it feels safe. The song of Tuis and Fantails is audible now through the leafy undergrowth. Was that the rustle of a moa foraging in the under growth? You can easily imagine a time maybe 800 to a 1000 years ago, humans do not yet inhabit this land. It is a Jurassic setting with a unique flora and fauna. Above you at the top of the valley the wild winds bluster over head, whipping up clouds and mist which races through the air assuming shapes that appear and then dissolve as fast as they are formed. However back in the present we need to send you in search of our cache, although this is the 21st century – it’s not hard to see why Aotearoa generates a passionate love for nature. Paradise is everywhere – even in the city!

This is a two stage multi cache and the listed coordinates will lead you to the location where you will find coordinates for the final location.

There are three possible starting points for this two stage multi cache all being just as much fun. The car park co-ordinates (listed below) are just one suggestion that will lead you to a resting spot where there are harbour views to enjoy through a picture frame of regenerating New Zealand bush. The final hide is just off a well formed track though you may get a wet hand and stub your toe but you will not be rocked by the fall.
