The first of it's kind in Carbon County!
This cache is not at the listed coordinates.
Practically everyone who lives in Carbon County most certainly
knows of the legend of the White
Lady. There are several versions of the story and I'm not sure
anyone actually knows which is true (if any). Nonetheless, it's a
perfect opportunity for a great geocache experience. I've spoken
with several people who claim to have actually seen the White Lady.
If you believe in this sort of thing, this will be a test of your
wits and expose your fears.
This cache is a multi cache / night cache. It is designed to be
found only at night. Therefore, it will be very difficult if not
impossible to find during the day. You will need a bright
flashlight with batteries good enough to last for at least 1/2
hour. I would recommend carrying some spares in case they "die"
out. You don't want to get stranded in the dark... You'll be
following a trail of clues looking for numbers to complete the
following coordinates.
N 39° _ _ . _ _ _ W 110° _ _ . _ _ _
Now for the fun part... This ghostly adventure begins at the posted
coordinates. If you have a high clearance vehicle you can drive to
within 50 feet of this spot. If you are driving a car you'll have
to walk up from the main road... about 300 feet... that is, if you
dare (he he he). From this spot, shine your light around until you
see a clue. Walk to that spot and you'll find the first missing
digit to the incomplete coordinates posted above. Stand within 5
feet of the clue and shine your light around until you find the
next one. From there move to the next one and so on. You'll be
walking around old abandoned houses where the White Lady may be
lurking. After you find all ten clues, you'll have the coordinates
that will lead you to the next leg. From here you're on your own.
With a little common sense (and guts) you should be able to find
the container quite easily.
Overall, the terrain is fairly easy but can be a little tough in
the dark. Therefore, I've rated it at a 2.5. Take special care to
watch your step, as it will be dark and there are hazards all
around. In wet conditions it may be slick.
As you drive up the canyon, look around for signs of the White
Lady. We noticed remnants of her in one of the trees...
HOO HOO HA HA HA HA!
