Just when you think you can’t explore Anna Maria any further...

Anna Maria is such a wonderful little place tacked on to the north end of Braden Beach and Holmes Beach. And when I placed As Rotten As It Gets in Bradenton Beach, I was quite sarcastic with the name, but when you arrive at that little spot, you’ll find it is both wonderful and rotten. And today the unthinkable happened, I was forced to take vacation time away from work. ACK! So I decided to run by and drop the ol’ geo-Jeepster off for the fifth time to see if they could get the brakes right ::sigh:: but planned ahead by popping the old Cannondale road bike on the back. While they worked, I rode. And I wanted to give them time so I rode 55 miles.

Along this beach run I headed up to the north end of Anna Maria Island and did some geocaching along the way. While there and with the weather so wonderful, I decided to do some exploring so I started seeing where roads lead. And boy was I surprised when I found another place, just as rotten as GC16Z2. Maybe even a little more rotten. Well, rotten and wonderful. You’ll see what I mean when you arrive.

This is a micro cache hidden at the south east end of the most northern main Gulf-side peninsula of Anna Maria Island (does that sound confusing?). When you arrive you will find yourself surrounded by boats, beach and water. Be sure to bring your own pen and re-hide as securely as you found it. You may have some local muggles around but I’ve lived in the area for decades and never knew this was here.
