Geocache Description:

Veterans Day, November 11, is a day set aside to honor all those men and women who have served our country in times of peace and war.

Its a day to acknowledge their time, their courage, their sacrifices, and for some the ultimate sacrifice, to insure and protect our way of life, our freedoms, and at times our very existence as a country.

On the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month of each year we pause as a country to say "Thank You".

This geocache is my way of saying Thank You" and, I hope, offers each of you an opportunity to visit with some of those heroes and acknowledge them in your own private way.

The setting is Ferncliff Cemetery in Springfield, Ohio and I have included a link that tells a litle more about it.

Permission has graciously been granted by the superintendent to allow you to respectively visit the various stages selected for this hunt. The following parking coordinates will give you a nice spot to begin your visit.
N 39 56.169 W 083 49.449

Stages have been placed so you'll be able to take a journey through our country's history beginning with our civil war plot and ending next to a section where our youngest heroes are resting.

As you move from stage to stage please take some time to read a few names and dates to make your journey a little more personal and your experience a little more meaningful.

As you finish your search and walk back to your car you will pass yet another newly opened field waiting silently for more heroes. I wonder if we will ever get to a point where we won't need any more fields.

Thanks for spending some time with them.
