The Rock River Cemetery is all that remains of the small settlement of "Rock River",formerly located one mile south of here.
It existed from 1850 to 1855, with J.C. Peterson as its postmaster.
In later years, the buildings were taken down, and the lumber used to construct other buildings.
The first house north on Towne Road was built from the wood of the Rock River Church.
Be sure to check out the huge old Jackpines on the perimeter of the grounds, as well as the wrought iron arch at the entry.
This is a quick in/out cache, with direct access to Hwy. 151.
Remember... the cache is not located on or near any markers.
Please be respectful of this area and any family who may be visiting.
