Geocache Description:

A cache hidden near to the route of the former Canterbury to Whitstable Railway.

Hidden History #2

World's Oldest Railway Bridge

P Parking may be available in South Street (waypoint CP, please consider the residents when parking), but the local Tesco is nearby (waypoint CQ) as an alternative.
~ The track to the cache for the most part is a national cycle path or woodland paths, but the final stretch is off the path and does involve a short bank to walk up.  May be muddy in places during the winter or after heavy rain.

No history series in the Whitstable area would be complete without a cache based on the former Whitstable to Canterbury 'Crab & Winkle' railway line.

The cache coordinates are for the location of the bridge often given the title 'The World's Oldest Railway Bridge'.  A picture of the bridge, which was demolished around 1970, can be found here.  Another bridge which can also claim this title still stands however, hidden away in the undergrowth, not far from the actual location of this cache.

There's little detail about the line on this page, so you'll have to do a little research of your own before attempting this cache in order to locate the it (all the answers have been taken from the Crab and Winkle Line Trust website).
