Geocache Description:

This cache is at the border to Vandenberg AFB, also the end of the road.

YOU WILL NEED THE LAST THREE DIGITS OF THE YEAR THE AIR FORCE WAS INAUGURATED TO UNLOCK (BYOP). ____________________________________________________________

Traveling south on HWY 1 from this point you enter Vandenberg AFB property. For the next 9 miles you will travel a portion of the 93,000 acres, get a glimpse of their 35 miles of coastline, see some of the launch gantries, and pass the main gate and things you probably never knew existed.

You are actually on the base now and the gate on the left at the end of this road presents a few warnings. Vandenberg was actually Camp Cook Army Base in a former life and armor was the name of the game then, with military tanks and artillery both training on the base. As a consequence, there is the possibility of stumbling upon unexploded ordinance in many areas of the base.

You can easily get around the lock if need be, it is there to add some fun to the find. Geopin for the FTF.
