It is best to park in the centre of Nailsworth then walk up the road towards Avening, next to Lloyds Bank taking the second turning on the right, a very narrow lane, from here it is a straight line to the cache site.
The fields around the cache site are grazed by cattle all summer and this is where the cache name comes from.
There are splendid views over Nailsworth, Box and Minchinhampton common as you come up to the cache. After finding the cache you can either retrace your steps or continue on to Horsley and Barton End, Tetbury, Chavenage or Avening, the shortest round trip is to continue on the path to through the next field, cross the stile next to the remains of a building and turn sharp left down a track between the fields, follow this down through the woods and when you get to the gateway in the stream at the bottom turn left and follow the path along the woods and across a field to bring you back to Nailsworth.
This is one of a series of five “This one …” caches using the “This little piggy” rhyme as its theme. They can be done individually or as a round trip, when the other Nailsworth caches can also be included. They are not difficult and are intended to let cachers see parts of Nailsworth that they might otherwise miss.
