What's left of a nice series of caches
The cache has been replaced with a pill bottle in what used to be the parking area. The cache is between a low palm and a pine tree.
Gamble Place used to have tours, but they tend to come and go. It also has trails that are in a conservation area and open all the time although there are other trails that are on private property. It can be difficult to determine which is which. No one has ever had a problem. However, I would definitely not go night caching here.
The name comes from James Gamble of Proctor and Gamble fame. He purchased the property in 1898 as a hunting retreat. It currently is under the control of The Museum of Arts and Science (MOAS) in Daytona Beach. This is Volusia County public land, but the boundaries are unclear. There was a series of caches on the trails, but the trails are no longer maintained.
