At SideTracked in BRUM - a WWFM Event (GC16JGT) a number of 'seed caches' were given out - ready-to-go micros. As I'd caught the train to Birmingham I decided to set the seed cache as a 'Side Tracked' cache on the way home.
Deciding that late on a Saturday night wasn't the time to set a cache in central Coventry, I got off a stop early at Canley, and set the cache there
Canley station used to the be the halt for staff working at the large motor factories that surrounded it, factories making, for example, the Triumph Dolomite. It was next to a level crossing making access from both sides easy, but this was removed recently, (So recently in fact that aerial photographs haven't caught up) and replaced by masses of metal fencing, and a metal footbridge.
I got off the train, and set the cache as close to the station as I could reasonably on my way home. It was quite hard to find a suitable spot - At last I was feeling as thick as the proverbial two short planks, when I found a suitable spot.
If you find the cache, please push it well back in where you found it. It is out of sight, and I had no magnets with me, so I had to find somewhere it could hold itself in place.
About SideTracked
We have Motorway Mayhem. We have A-Road Anarchy. We even have Village Vexation. But what about public transport users? SideTracked Caches are intended to provide quick cache-and-dashes at train stations. It is hoped this idea will spread across the country in the same way as the MMs.
