"Hey get off our property!"
"No Skateboarding Allowed!"
"Get outta' here punk...or we'll call the
cops!"
Skateboarders are everywhere and most places
they're seen skating they're not welcome. Long hair, scruffy jeans,
sloppy sneakers...they couldn't be good kids...they must be
delinquents!

Well, we know a few and they're not delinquents,
but like many teenagers through time they're redefining
"misunderstood youth". Grumpy people who seem to have forgotten
their youth don't seem to care. The fact of the matter is we spend
millions on new parks and park equipment, but very little or
nothing for kids who want to skateboard. Instead we put the extra
budget line item into lovely signage declaring skateboarding
"PROHIBITED"!
Well this cache takes you to a cool little spot
right in the middle of playgrounds, tennis courts, a swimming
facility, ball fields, etc. and believe it or not there's a place
for skateboarders too. A place where SKATEBOARDING IS NOT A CRIME!
Yep Derry Township had the open mind enough to build a skate park.
Complete with a half pipe, rails, fun boxes and more. Hershey has a
place for our long haired, scruffy jeaned kids to skateboard and
have fun. More communities need to follow their lead. Come check it
out*.
*If you're one of those grumpy people, you may
want to blow off this cache. Seeing these kids shredding on
equipment bought by the community may be hazardous to your health -
lol. ;-)
To claim this
cache:
- Find the cache
- Sign the log - it's in the Zero Wheels coffin (please put it back
in the coffin)
- Upload a photo of yourself at the gate to the skate park.
This is part of our
Perryzip Crew Geocache Trail (PZC-GT). In an attempt to share neat
places and things, we’ve come up with this trail around the PA
capital region. Please be sure to make note of the single digit
number written on the log. When you've completed the trail and
combine the numbers in cache numerical order, you'll have the
coordinates to the Unknown Cache 'City of Harrisburg - PZC-GT #16
(THE FINAL)'. Have fun!
note - as of 05/02/09, the cache is now a micro/35mm film can.
The cache is not in the rock pile.
