Geocache Description:

View of Patra
A multi stage and mystery cache with 3 stages.
At first you have to visit Achaia Clauss.

The story : "Once upon a time there was a Bavarian called Gustav Clauss. Gustav very much liked drinking wine and reading books. One day while he was drinking some wine he started reading a nice book referring to Greece. Gustav was very impressed by the story of this country and decided to visit it .So it happened. In 1854 Gustav arrived in sunny Greece. He traveled round the country, which he considered most attractive until one day he reached Patras . Here he discovered a paradise of vineyards which covered the surrounding hills. Here, he thought must certainly produce the best wine. Without taking much into consideration he decided to settle down in Patras ,where he built a castle and within its walls he made a wine factory."

"Full of love and talent Gustav created many kinds of wines which started to be exported to the other European countries. Their names became famous all around Europe: Mavrodafni, Moschato, Demestiha."

The castle is open every day from 9:00-17:00.

Stage 1

At the given coordinates of the cache you will find a film canister wich contain a note
with a number. This is number X.
Please don't remove the note to find it the next Geocacher, and leave the canister in the same place as you find it.

Stage 2

Take a tour into the old settlement that is now being visited by more than 200,000 visitors per year and comprises, among others,
huge barrels full of famous Mavrodaphne red wine since 1873 - the second oldest preserved wine in the world.
Find the marble signs with the year of visit the wine factory of Gustav Claussof from two Kings of Greece .
Year of visit of Georges II = A
Year of visit of Paul I = B
Put together the two numbers (AB) and you will have the third number C. ( example If A=2007 and B=2006 then C=20072006 ).

Now lets climp up the surround hills of Patra. ( Are required sacrifices for the beautiful view of the city!!!)
Calculate : X - 14.881.719 = The north coordinates of stage 2, C - 17.225.499 = The East coordinates of stage 2.

Stage 3

These coordinates will guide you to Omplou monastery. If you want to visit the monastery the open time is 8:00-12:00 & 16:00-20:00.
There is a part of dirty road until the entrance of the monastery but you don't need a special car to drive until there.
In your way, at the coordinates 38 10.384N, 21 46.848E you will find a stone construction with a tap water.
Take note of the 4 year digit that there is in a marble sign. This is the number D.
Also calculate the checksum of this 4 digit number. This is number E.

Park your car near the entrance of the monastery and continue on foot to the gravel road tghrough the forest with the oaks.
You are only 300m away of the second stage.
At the coordinates of stage 2 it waits for you a film canister wich contain a note with an eight digits number at the front side
and a calculation formula at the back side. The result of the formula is a number with one digit. This is number F.

Some calculation : Y = D*F*((E*F)-(2*F))*E.
The north coordinates of the final point are : Y-1.584.068
The east coordinates of the final point are : Y-3.248.149

Turn back and go to parking at : 38 10.498N, 21 46.508E. Take the path to the final point. After you leave Achaia Clauss
you will have an excellent view of Patra, the gulf and the Rio_Antirio Bridge. Good luck.
