Located on the ridge path that continues past the Emerald Bay Chapel. Path is up and down and is a bit step with loose rock in places and the last little bit is a bit steep. The cache is steps off a clear path, no need to go near the edge. You will only be a short distance out of Emerald Bay but bring water as it is bound to be hot. Do not attempt to go directly to the site by heading due west from the rifle range.
This is the second annual Pack 100/Den 33 Cache. I places the another cache near Parson's beach on 06 and this year placed this one.
This Cache should be started by walking up from Doctor's Cove along the path to the Emerald Bay Chapel. Feel free to stop in the Chapel and check out the carved signs and enjoy a killer view of the bay which are a very inspiring part of the the camp's Scouts Own services.
Up the path you will enjoys some great views of the ocean and on a clear day views of the city in the distance.
My son (currently a Bear Scout) and I place this cache together and with luck if he sticks with scouting one day he can visit this cache, which is only a short distance out of camp, when he is a boy and spends a week in this wonderful place.
I have placed a variety of cards (a mini deck and a deck for politically correct war) along with a few other trinkets in the cache.
If you are visiting the cache as a scout try to bring something scouting along to trade with the cache or even a CSP or flap from a distant location.
I forgot to note in the log please share some words of meaning in the log as well as signing it.
I hope you will enjoy the placement as much as Cole and I did finding it.
You are a looking for a black case secured with a safety cord to its home. Be careful of the dead cactus that is near the cache
By the way, you will pass a Geodetic mark on the path to this cache and if you look to the south to the outer most point in the distance you will be looking at another fun cache called Emerald Bay that is on the road south from camp which is located very near a geodetic point on the part of the island.
