The remains of this small stone observatory can be found about 3km from Haenertsburg on the way to Pietersburg on the R71. Turn off at the "Filly's Way" sign and travel up a further 800m and you will find the site on your right hand side.
The observatory was built in the early 1950's on top of a hill near Haenertsburg with "Erno Star House 1955" inscribed above the door. Prof. Jackson discovered 3 comets (in 1935, 1936 and 1948) - two of these can still be seen today. He also discovered 72 minor new planets between 1929 and 1939.
This cache was part of “NO LIMITS adventure” Geocaching Event that took place on 10 November 2007 from Magoebaskloof Ruskamp. Geocachers who attended the event and filled in the logbook on this one can log a “Found It”
