Geocache Description:

This is a quick cache & dash located along Hwy 160 just east of Cortez, Colorado. There’s a convenient gravel wayside near the cache that will accommodate most any size vehicle. Cache is NOT down in the gully or on the old wooden flume .

You're looking for a 7"x4"x3" Loc-n-Loc chock full of treasures. It's a great place to drop Travel Bugs as this is a main East - West route through southern Colorado into Arizona, New Mexico & Utah. It can get noisy here at times plus there is a fair amount of traffic. Use plenty of stealth. It’s a good place to CITO.

Of historical significance, there’s the interesting remnants of an old wooden water flume used to carry water for irrigation. See photo.

If you’d like to stretch your legs there’s a trail near by. Just enter the fairgrounds, turn right as if going back to the race track, about half way there you’ll see a green sign (Great Outdoors Colorado) & the gravel path with a white line guiding the way. It goes down thru a small canyon & wanders along it’s rim thru sagebrush & rabbit bush. It may also go up on the mesa top thru mature Pinon pine & juniper trees.
