If you're out looking for this
Benchmark these coordinates will probably work a lot better for
you, This is one of My favorite areas and I've been coming here for
many years.
The "Station Description" for the Benchmark is : DESCRIBED BY
COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1934 5.9 MI W FROM GOSHEN. ABOUT 5.9
MILES WEST ALONG THE DENVER AND RIO GRANDE WESTERN RAILROAD FROM
THE STATION AT GOSHEN, UTAH COUNTY, AT A MINING CAMP, NEAR THE
SHEEP PENS, ABOUT 110 FEET EAST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE TRACK, IN
THE TOP OF A LONE BOULDER, AND 1 FOOT ABOVE THE GROUND. A STANDARD
DISK, STAMPED D 56 1934.
The old railroad grade is now just a fun road to drive on with
Jeeps or quads, ( if you follow it north there is a cool train
tunnel to drive through ) the mining camp is no more, the sheep
pens are long gone, but the lone boulder with the disc on it is
still there where it always was.
