Located on the Barry Goldwater Bombing Range. Special Permit required to enter range. Permit information published below. High clearance vehicle highly recommended. It's located about 1.5 miles from the entrance via the road so walkable for the hardy ones.
All SW Arizona Cachers, and Winter Visitors, know that it has become exceedingly difficult to grab a FTF in the Yuma area because of the tenacious, bull-dog, obsessive compulsive behavior of one “Jeep’en Jumpers”, AKA “JJ” and “The Hawk”. He is also probably known by other names…………. ; however, since this is a family oriented sport, those other pseudonyms are probably better off left unpublished!
This little series of FTF Challenges for “JJ” has been developed to allow the “Little Dogs” an opportunity to bag a FTF in the Yuma area. It’s a known fact that no one can be in multiple places at the same time (at least I think that’s true).
So Fellow Cachers, go getum……….the name of the game is “Beat JJ”. Log your entry before that dreaded “Jeep’en Jumpers”sticker can be applied.
This container is an ammo can and when placed it contained a $2.00 for FTF, $1.00 bill, 3rd Time Charm Lucky Geo Coin #2, CRZOLDY’s Alien GeoCoin, a whistle and compass in case you get lost, 2 decks of Fitzgeralds playing cards (if you’re lost, just start playing some solitaire and someone will come along and tell you what plays you missed), pen and pencil holder from Hyder, AK, a puzzle and a NASCAR Model Car #25. This should not be a difficult find as I am not into scrambling up the sides of rocky slopes to find or hide a cache!
This cache is placed on the Barry Goldwater Bombing Range and a permit is required to enter the range. Permits can be obtained from the Human Resources Office at the MCAS, Yuma. There is no charge for the permit and the office is located about ½ mile south the MCAS Main Gate on Avenue 3E. Everyone in your party is required to have a permit. You will be given maps and all pertinent information applicable to entry to the Range.
Good Luck!
