Geocache Description:


The cache is hidden on Mill Plain in the bushes near the site of the Ringmer Post Mill. The mill was last used in 1921 and collapsed in 1925. The ‘mill post’ remains as a memorial to the mill.

There are superb views from Mill Plain, down over Ringmer and the Weald and East along the Downs to Firle Beacon and beyond.

On a summer’s evening you may hear the sound of opera drifting up from the world famous Glyndebourne Opera House started by John Christie in 1934.

You can park on the brow of the hill on the Ringmer to Glynde Road – TQ544939 111052 or walk up from Ringmer.
