Geocache Description:

In Haddam, off Bridge Road (Rt. 82); as you approach the swing bridge from the west, turn right into the marine park formerly occupied by Camelot Cruises tour boat company. The park is open from dawn to dusk; pet and kid-friendly. Please replace the cache exactly as you found it.

This may be Connecticut’s newest state park. Just recently, a sign appeared along the entrance road announcing “Eagle Landing, a CT State Park.” What a wonderful addition to our state park system! Right now, there are picnic tables, a gazebo, four piers going out into the Connecticut River, and scads of open space for parking, games, etc. I understand the state will be putting in a boat ramp in the near future. There is plenty of room for some campsites too. For now, fishermen can enjoy the river access while others can watch for eagles and enjoy the view across to the East Haddam Opera House. A much smaller park with picnic tables and river views can be found across the street next to the Goodspeed Landing parking lot. FTF gets a nice lunch nearby. No hints needed and the GPS reception is excellent. Enjoy!
