380 ACRES MINE ON THE WEST END.
ABOUT 1/2 MILE FROM TRAILHEAD... A TOTAL OF 3 LAKES... HACKING AROUND EACH EXCEPT DURING HUNTING SEASON...

Up to 10 times saltier than the ocean, La Sal del Rey is a hypersaline lake sitting over a solid dome of salt estimated at 4 million tons. Exactly how the massive salt deposit originally formed remains unknown, but it is probably a remnant of an ancient seabed. With salt crystals that are 99 percent pure sodium chloride, it is the most famous of the dozen or so salt lakes found across South Texas. (visit link)

According to “Dr. Fred”: “This is a remarkable place…”
I think that the impact or impacts that formed the Gulf OF MEXICO (CHICXULUB), the hill country (GCZPZN), and even the Winding Stairs in Oklahoma (GCZ8ZT)….
They CAUSED an earth / land / soil, to Tsunami, a wave, that moved the land that would have been Dallas, Tx. in to Southern Oklahoma…. These examples show the upheaval of the land…. Floated the salt BLOCK upward near surface...
Because of the black rocks I’ve found around the sites…. The rocks appear to be both volcanic and Terrestrial??? They were hot on impact and the wet, white caliche / limestone were baked to the bottom… I believe that there was some type of impact that crashed and opened the lakes… When you stand anywhere around the lakes you realize that the land raises around you ( a crater )...
If you looking at google maps you can clearly see depressions (small, round, darker colored), impacts all around the lakes…
The center lake (La Sal Vieja) has islands, witch might suggest a complex crater??? (visit link)
Please look at the maps and keep watch for the black rocks ( it might be a meteoroid, asteroid or comet ).. Let me know what you find & think… I am working on getting the rocks studied…. Check out the photos…
