Canal Tours Here Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

skippyrich2kids: After a long debate, we've decided to archive this one. The location is very open and with all the brush being moved away recently, I think it's best to let it go. Thanks to all who've found it. We'll be hiding new ones soon.

Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Graniteville Company Enterprise Division. You will not believe all that is here to see! There are several water turbines and a huge brass bell, a ground hog kiln?!? The Augusta Canal Authority has information on canal tours aboard the William Phillips Petersburg boat and a museum inside too! The head of the canal is unfortunately more popular than this section, but that is sure to change soon. It's pretty here...... You just gotta go see it.

Some of my favorite caches are near bodies of water. There wasn't one around here, so I was inspired.

You are looking for a full sized ammo can (that I won from a raffle at a CSRA Geocaching meeting at Stevie B's). Inside is a very special t shirt for the FTF. Whoever is first, please take it!! ***UPDATE: the container went MIA, and once replaced........it is now much smaller & plastic.***

PLEASE use a lot of stealth as you trade items. After you're done, walk up the wrought iron steps to view the gorgeous Augusta Canal, see the boat docked and a great view of the Butts Mear Bridge! Remember the HUGE campaign to save that bridge in the 90's?!?

*********Congrats to British Hummnbyrd for the FTF. ********
