Isle of Dogs Trail - "The Tower" in the docks Traditional Cache
Southerntrekker: This cache has been in need of care and maintenance for some time and as the owner has not responded to recent logs I am archiving it.
The Geocache Maintenance guideline explains a CO's responsibility towards checking and maintaining the cache when problems are reported. Caches that have been archived for lack of maintenance will not be unarchived. This is explained in the Help Center.

Isle of Dogs Trail - "The Tower" in the docks

Another small black magnetic nano - bring a pen, and something to help you get the log book out.
From the cache site you get a clear view over to Surrey Quays and Deptford on the south side of the river. "Surrey Commercial Docks" as the area was once called operated from the late 1600's through to the mid 90's, and the area you see before you was 85% covered in docks - over 460 acres. Now redeveloped only 2 complete docks remain, and you can see the entrance pier down to the Thames between Greenland Dock and Surrey Dock here.
The old dock offices remain in front of you, but in the middle is "The Tower" - a controversial development on the pepys estate which was the focus of a BBC documentary of the same name. Taking 3 years to make just 8 episodes, the "docusoap" allegedly "examines the impact made by the redevelopment of a former council high-rise building into luxury riverside apartments and flats for public sector workers". The locals were understandably upset at being portrayed as drug taking gangsters, against the posh high-paying city people moving in.....
The cache - look for an indication that the land nearby is private.
