Here is the perfect way to welcome the Christmas season into your home. After the Thanksgiving feast is cleared away and we haul out our Christmas decorations, our family tradition is to play the most encouraging movie ever, “It’s A Wonderful Life” as we decorate our tree. It’s our annual attitude refresher examining the true meaning of success and wealth, defining it in terms of hearts touched, and integrity rather than dollars and cents. I’m guaranteed to be sobbing by the time the star goes on top of our tree and feeling grateful for my responsibilities rather than resenting them. I’m not one to watch movies over again, but this one obviously stands up year after year. You can always do an internet search, but I encourage you to snuggle up with the family for this one if you’ve never watched it beginning to end. I didn’t fully appreciate the movie until I watched the whole thing rather than bits and pieces. It’s also more meaningful the older I get. You can also keep an eye out for the original Bert and Ernie, see what Alfalfa from the Our Gang Series looked like grown up, and what Grandma Walton looked like as a younger old lady. Enjoy answering these questions from this tale of my favorite everyman, George Bailey. He’s my holiday hero.
