Geocache Description:

Welcome to Shelby Iron Park.

The Shelby Ironworks pre-dated the iron and steel manufacturing process in Birmingham. This was one of two places in the Confederacy that produced Steel.

What is left today is just a relic of the things that were done 150 years ago. The area is pretty open, there are vendor stalls, there are some things to look at. While you are enjoying the park, be sure to check for the Geocache.

I did not have phone service at this place. So, a phone-a-friend may be difficult. You are searching for a Camo'd Match Stick holder. Bring your own pencil or pen for autographs.
