Geocache Description:

James Ormond Park

Damietta is the name of the plantation founded by James Ormond II and his father upon their arrival in 1804.

When Florida became a US Territory, Ormond became prominent in Civil Affairs, and during the Seminole War of 1836 he commanded a platoon of the " Mosquito Roarers " at the Battle of Dunlawton. The city of Ormond Beach was named for his family.

Within this park is the tomb of James Ormond II, a simple engraving says

James Ormond II
Died Sept 30th 1829

An Honest Man

Cache is a camo pill bottle which includes a log, pencil and FTF prize.
