Welcome to Maux Faux's Mad Multi - The Cacher's War on Everything - Part 5 of Maux Faux's Mt. Laura Trail
The given waypoints for the start of the multi will take you to an
interesting local landmark, with an equally interesting history. If
you have the time, it is worth a look, if not you will still be
able to access the required info from where you stand, give or take
a few paces. When you arrive, observe two large painted 3 digit
numbers, each being preceded by a letter of the alphabet. Take each
of these 3-digit numbers, and place them into the following
waypoints 33 S 00.abc and 137 E 31.xyz. The larger of the two
numbers and that which is alphabetically foremost provides you with
the numbers for the southerly bearing. The second smaller number
gives you the remainder of the easterly bearing. When you reach the
second destination, you will find a small camouflaged micro that is
empty. It is just there to let you know you are in the right spot.
From this spot, face a few degrees shy of true west and the cache
is hidden at the base of a tree among a stand of others, pretty
much exactly 100m away in that direction. The cache is a classic
regular size that is camouflaged and well hidden. The cache
contains a few different swaps, some useful, some less so. It has a
little prize for the FTF also. It is guarded by a local mob of grey
kangaroos, some bull ants and the usual array of reptiles.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES DRIVE ALL THE WAY TO THE GZ and CACHE!!! Existing tracks get you to within less than 300 metres of where you need to be. Cache will be archived if more damage is done in the vicinty by obvious caching activity.
