Geocache Description:

Note: Sorry, but this is not a quick park & grab for travelers along I85.

Ivy Creek runs between I85 and the Mall of Georgia, and flows on to the mill pond for what was Woodward Mill, before continuing on. Gwinnett County is constructing a greenway trail from Gravel Springs Road, along the creek, to eventually connect with the trail system at the Gwinnett Heritage Center.

The trail is still a work in progress, with paved areas under Hwy 20, and under the interstate cloverleaf, and along the site of the old mill (and one of my caches) but only dirt and gravel for most of it's length. The trail runs between Mall Blvd. and the wetlands that contain my two "mog's" caches, but please keep in mind that the wetlands are currently distinct and separate from the greenway trail, and permission to enter is still needed there. (see my "mog's" cache pages for details).

The trail can be accessed from the indicated access point below, though hopefully that will only be a temporary situation until proper trail heads and parking lots are constructed.

The cache is a lock&lock container hidden in a pretty unremarkable section of the trail. I would have liked to have hidden it along the creek, but am concerned that it might eventually wash away, so opted for a safer spot.

This greenway trail should be very nice once it's completed. Enjoy a sneak peak when hunting for this cache.
