Geocache Description:

This cache is located just off the parking lot at the Creston Valley Wildlife Centre in an effort to help promote this wonderful preserve.

The Creston Valley Wildlife Centre is part of the Creston Valley Wildlife Management Area, a 17,000 acre preserve located in an area nestled between the Selkirk and the Purcell Mountains near the small town of Creston, BC.

The area provides easily accessible trails for biking, hiking, or skiing and waterways for canoeing. While visiting the area, no matter the mode of transportation, you will have a chance to see many forms of wildlife including elk, moose, deer, muskrat, beaver, and river otters. You will also have chances to see the over 285 different bird species that have been seen in the area.

The Creston Valley Wildlife Management is open year round for your enjoyment and exploration. The Creston Valley Wildlife Center is only open from May to September, but provides additional services like bug displays and guided tours. You can also rent canoes here for reasonable cost to explore the area around the center. You may wish to allow yourself some extra time to explore this natural gem in the Creston Valley.
