The above coordinates will only get you in the general area of the cache. Finding a parking spot near the cache is nearly impossible. This location is in a city setting with lots of Muggles. There is no need to access the federal installation to solve this cache. So, don't even think about it! Muggles would be the least of your problems!! Hope you enjoy the nearby park and the important history you are about to learn in order to solve the location of the cache.
BLIND MAN’S BLUFF: MYTH or LEGEND?
FINAL CACHE COORDINATES: N 47 33.ABC, W 122 37.DEF
In order to get to the final location for the cache, you are going to have to do some searching on the internet and studying of local history.
1) The USS Thresher (SSN-593) went to her watery grave on April 10, 1963. When you find out how many brave men lost their lives on that fateful day, subtract the second digit from the third digit. That will give you the number for A.
2) Go to this location: N 47 33.807, W 122 37.626. In what year did A. B. Wyckoff purchase 190.25 acres? The third digit of this year will give you the number for B.
3) Go to this location: N 47 33.827, W 122 37.638. In what year was the closest (to you at present time) federal installation made into a National Historic Landmark? Subtract the fourth digit from the third digit and that gives you the number for C.
4) Go to this location: N 47 33.791, W 122 37.598. In what year was construction completed? The fourth digit will be the right number for D.
5) The USS Scorpion (SSN-589) was declared lost along with her brave crew of 99 on June 2nd of what year? Subtract the last digit from the second digit of the year. This will give you the number for E.
6) This submarine was named after the only President of the United States that served onboard submarines and qualified as a SUBMARINER. The second digit of the submarine’s hull number will give you the number for F.
After you have plugged and chugged the numbers you are ready for the last two portions of your quest. Return the cache container to the exact location from where you took it. DO NOT jam it back into place. THANKS! Watch out for the MUGGLES!
PS: If you want more clues, a DNF posting is required.
Congratulations go to captsteiny for the FTF!
