Geocache Description:

Make your way up game trails and firebreaks to this no-namer summit with outstanding views.

The parking area for this one is near the Devils' Cnyn. trailhead @ N34'19.474 W118' 00.175. Locate and follow the NE trending firebreak/ridge. Careful not to go towards the right down the newly cut fire trail leading to a recent site of a lightning fire. Stay on top of the quickly-steepening ridge with Devils' Cnyn. dropping off to your right. Although this IS a firebreak, there is plenty of shade to be found along the entire ridge...

Soon the game trails bring you to a flat gravel "summit" @ about 5659ft. The cache is a short distance out the prominent ridge to the East of the flat area. Any number of deer trails will lead you to GZ. This is the part of the hike I'll call the "Maze"... There is no "easy" or straight way through... If you wore shorts, you're probably gonna bleed... If you find the best path, wounds should be limited to below the knees.... hehehe....

Catch your breath here and enjoy the views to Twin Peaks and Mt. Waterman to the NE, Mt Mooney, Vetter Lookout, and Strawberry Peak to the SW. Return the way you came, using your breadcrumb trail. DO NOT enter Devil's Canyon from this ridge as the sides of the canyon are very steep and unforgiving.

Time the hike out so you can catch a GREAT sunset!!!

Note: This cache can also be approached by a similar firebreak near the final location of "Lou's Place" (GC18N4A)
