This cache is on the Beacon way, a path from Cannock Chase to the Sandwell Valley via canals, community woodlands and a country park This area, now part of the Forest of Mercia, was formerly known as Beacon Regional Park, named after the 227m summit of Barr Beacon.
Cache is a small click / lock tupperware box & should be a fairly easy find & giving a nice view of the North side of Barr Beacon. Parking can be found either on Sutton Road near the Garden Centre which is then a short walk to Crook Lane.
As an alternative there is limited parking just below the Beacon at the junction of Pinfold Lane. It's then a short walk to the join the path at N52,34.410 W 001,54.957. Please take care walking down the lane to it though as it's a popular rat run for M6 traffic. The problem is some drivers think they are already on the Motorway!
One last thing, from the Sutton Road route you'll pass a house to your left when walking down the gravel path. A couple of dogs behing the gates will probably bark. There is a right of way along here though but the first time I walked along this route many years ago I nearly jumped out of my skin.
**CONGRATULATIONS** to 'thurs night gang' for being FTF in around 90 minutes
