Remember the days of the old school yard Te Rore
Rual New Zealand had a school and a hall as a focal point. Here the Te Rore school was build in 1880 and closed in 1986. A large rock has a plaque to mark the spot. It is in the paddock behind the War Memorial and flag pole.
8 local men lost their lives in WW2 and there are 8 trees planted in the area which was at the front of the old school house. The school is gone but the hall is still there
