Geocache Description:

This is the main cache for a series of 4 micro caches leading to a regular cache all of which are situated on, or close to, the Silkstone Wagon Way which was built to carry coal from Silkstone Colliery along a track to the canal basin at Cawthorne. There is evidence of the old stoned track bed and other features along the route so keep your eye out.

The main cache is not at the above coordinates which are for the centre of Hugsett Wood and I can assure you the cache is not there. The cache can be found at

GPS reception was erratic so don’t forget the clue – although I’m sure on arrival at the area you will have little difficulty finding the cache.

This series has been placed along a fairly flat route starting at Silkstone. Each one of the four micro caches contains the part coordinates for the final cache and a clue to help you find the final cache can be found in Silkstone Wagon Way 4.

Parking is available opposite the start of the footpath at Pot House Hamlet where you can also have a look around and a coffee before and/or after you have completed the series -parking at N53 32.900 W001 33.580. There are two other caches in the area. Firstly the ‘Silkstone Stash’ which is very close to the start and secondly Pot House Hamlet is the start for Uksnappers ‘Get the drift’ cache so you can have a good half day out caching in this area.

Do not try and drive to these caches as it has been set up for you to enjoy a lovely walk. Please take care when searching for and replacing these caches. The area is popular with walkers including dog walkers.

The cache is a regular Tupperware style container covered in cammo tape and contains a log book, pen, pencil, sharpener, cache box card and assorted goodies.
