The first in a series of historical places in Kroonstad.
This is a memorial for the First and Second World wars. It was moved from its first position, across the old city hall in Cross street, when the new city hall and civic centre was finished.
The new theater was inaugurated in 1976, the civic centre in 1978 and soon after the library and the municipal buildings.
