Beavering Around – Ash Colony
2007 will mark 100 years of Scouting. The first Scout camp was run in 1907 by Baden-Powell, on Brownsea Island. At present there are over 28 million Scouts, Cubs, Beavers, Youths and Leaders, in 216 countries. By 2007 it is estimated that over 500 million men and women from most of the world’s countries and cultures will have pledged to live by the Scout Promise and Law.
Beavering Around - Ash Colony has been placed by 2nd Plymstock Beaver Ash Colony who meet regularly on a Thursday evening at The Scout Den, Horn Lane, Plymstock, Plymouth. Before the Cache goes ‘Live’ all our beavers will be doing a ramble and finding the cache’s themselves and earning their first hike badge or older ones working towards their 5 hikes badge. Beavers are age 6 to 8.
We hope you enjoy finding our Cache and we shall all be watching with interest. Please feel free to leave any photo’s or comments to keep our Beavers interested in the people who visit their cache. Especially any other Beavers, cubs, Scouts / other nationalities etc.,
This position was chosen for the lovely seat very close by to ease your weary legs after your walk.
Permission was obtained from the Saltram Estate Warden before placing this Cache.
